The charcoal canister solenoid valve, also known as the purge solenoid valve, is a component found in the evaporative emission control system of a vehicle.
The charcoal canister solenoid valve is responsible for controlling the flow of fuel vapor between the charcoal canister and the engine intake manifold.
The evaporative emission control system is designed to capture and store fuel vapors from the fuel tank, preventing them from being released into the atmosphere. The charcoal canister, filled with activated charcoal, absorbs and stores these fuel vapors. During engine operation, the purge solenoid valve opens to allow the fuel vapor to be drawn into the engine for combustion.
